The Seahawks played a great game yesterday, but ultimately fell short to the Rams with a score of 30-29. The game was close throughout, with neither team leading by more than a touchdown. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson had a great game, throwing for 298 yards and three touchdowns. However, he was intercepted twice in the fourth quarter, which proved to be costly. The Seahawks will look to rebound next week against the 49ers.

The offensive line gave him plenty of time to throw, and the running game was effective when called upon. The only blemish on the offense’s performance was a dropped pass by receiver Doug Baldwin. Overall, it was a strong showing by the Seahawks’ offense.
The Seahawks’ defense was dominant against the Bengals, sacking quarterback Andy Dalton four times and intercepting him twice. Linebacker Bobby Wagner led the way with 9 tackles and a sack, while cornerback Shaquill Griffin also had a great game with an interception and a pass breakup. The only downside for the defense was that they did allow Cincinnati to convert on 4 of their 12 third down attempts.

Seattle’s special teams unit had a solid game overall. Kicker Jason Myers made all three of his field goal attempts, including a long of 53 yards. Punter Michael Dickson averaged 48 yards per punt and pinned the Bengals inside their own 20-yard line twice. The only blemish for the special teams was a missed tackle by return man Tyler Lockett that allowed Cincinnati to get good field position on their opening drive.
Overall, it was a great showing by the Seahawks in their season opener. They will look to build on this performance as they take on the Steelers in Week 2.
